The industrial sector is emerging from the recession. One of the surest signs of this is that they are increasing their spending on marketing. 70% of industrial sector marketers expect their sales to increase in 2010 over 2009 and 31% are increasing their marketing budgets, according to a recent study by GlobalSpec.
The Shift in Marketing Budgets
What’s particularly interesting about the data from this study is how marketers are allocating those additional marketing dollars. There is a dramatic shift away from traditional areas like trade magazine advertising, telemarketing and print directories, towards video, social media and search engine optimization (SEO).
